Bengaluru, Oct 29: Popular Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar who was admitted to Vikram Hospital after he complained of chest pain, passed away on Friday October 29. He was 46.
The chest pain started at 11 am on Friday while he was working out in the gym, the doctors informed. Puneeth was reported to be admitted in the intensive care unit of the hospital and is being attended by a team of specialists. Doctors addressing the media said had that he was serious and that he suffered a major heart attack.
Meanwhile, relatives and friends of the 46-year-old actor, including actors and producers, have arrived at the hospital. The road leading to hospital has been barricaded and security has beefed up. On the work front, Puneeth Rajkumar's next film will be a psychological thriller drama titled Dvita.
Puneeth is the son of matinee idol Rajkumar. He was a lead actor in 29 films. He appeared in many films as a child actor too. His most notable performances include Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha, Yarivanu and Bettada Hoovu (1985). He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu.
Dubbed by the media and fans as ‘Powerstar’, Puneeth had appeared as a lead actor in commercially successful films, including Appu (2002), Abhi (2003), Veera Kannadiga (2004), Mourya (2004), Aakash (2005), Ajay (2006), Arasu (2007), Milana (2007), Vamshi (2008), Raam (2009), Jackie (2010), Hudugaru (2011), Raajakumara (2017), and Anjani Putra (2017). He is one of the most famous celebrities and the highest-paid actors in the Kannada cinema.

Bengaluru, Oct 29: Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar has been reportedly hospitalised after he suffered a mild heart attack while working out at the gym on Friday October 29.
The actor has been rushed to Vikram hospital in Bengaluru.
There were sudden variations in his health condition, as per sources. He was rushed to the hospital and is undergoing treatment in the ICU. Several tests including ECG are being conducted on him. It is said that his condition is not serious at the outset.
Shiva Rajkumar and his daughter have rushed to the hospital. Puneeth Rajkumar had wished the best for Bhajrangi-2 film acted by Shiva Rajkumar and had congratulated the entire film team only four hours ago on Twitter. He became sick soon afterwards, it is said.
As fans are arriving at Vikram hospital, tight police security is provided. Senior police officials are visiting the hospital. Security is provided also at the residence of Puneeth Rajkumar.
