Mehbooba Mufti slams Centre over Amit Shah's J&K visit

Srinagar, Oct 23 (IANS): Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday slammed Centre over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's three-day J&K visit.

"HM inaugurating international flights from Srinagar & laying foundation of new medical colleges isn't new. Half a dozen medical colleges were sanctioned by the UPA government & are functional now. Post Article 370 abrogation & an engineered crisis, J&K has been thrown into chaos," she tweeted.

She wrote on the twitter that instead of reaching out to the people, the government has opted for cosmetic steps that don't address the actual problem. She said that steps like releasing of prisoners and ending 'harassment' of people would have provided a sense of relief.

"This crisis is of GOIs making & instead of reaching out they opted for cosmetic steps that don't address the actual problem. Ideally HM's visit should have been preceded by following up on PM's assurances post the all party meeting," Mehbooba tweeted.

"CBMs (confidence building measures) such as lifting the siege that J&K has been put under since 2019, releasing prisoners, ending the harassment people here face on a daily basis, taking tangible steps to revive the economy esp horticulture would have provided a sense of relief."

She said just before the Home Minister's visit 700 civilians were detained, booked under PSA and added that "Normalcy acrobatics" are in full swing while reality is denied and obfuscated.

"Prior to his visit, 700 civilians were detained, booked under PSA & many shifted to jails outside Kashmir. Such oppressive steps further vitiate an already tense atmosphere. 'Normalcy acrobatics' are in full swing while reality is denied & obfuscated."

What is the sense in inaugurating new international airport and laying foundation stone for medical colleges in Kashmir by Amit Shah if people and democratically elected people’s representatives are in house arrest and no freedom and no democracy in the state, it’s one big giant prison in Kashmir. Is it for free roaming cows or for only a media block buster campaign to the far reaches of the country???????. All this inaugurations and foundation stones needs to be seen when it is all done and finished which is highly unlikely since it’s only a one day affair for minister’s visit special ceremony.

Modiji, Firstly you forming a Government with this anti-national lady to gain power in Kashmir was WRONG....you gave her a chance to develop anti-national network during she was CM.... Firstly you and BJPee should apologize to the NATION for doing that blunder.... Now after removing article 370 ...which was a right step....and making J&K as Union Territory....J&K Police reports to Union Government even if there is State Government of terrorist sympathizers.... Remember in my personal opinion...you have free hand now....you will not get infinite time....Eliminate all Pak supported TERRORIST networks within an year....if not this non-sense will continue forever ...like its happening since October 1948... Pakistan is busy with its own problems...Afghanistan Taliban so far nobody recognized....not even Pakisstan!!!... its now or never Modiji... ...Tak...Takk...
