Mumbai: Full seating capacity in movie halls after Diwali – DCM Ajit Pawar

Mumbai, Oct 23: DCM Ajit Pawar said that a decision to allow full seating capacity in movie halls and theatres will be taken after the Diwali festival assessing the Covid situation prevailing at that time in the state.

Ajit said that the request will be considered only if the cases are showing a downward trend. Now the cinema halls and theatres are allowed to function with 50% capacity.

The DCM also said that the state has given 10 crore vaccinations and the positivity rate is below 5 percent. The effort to increase the vaccination rate will continue. In the last fortnight there has been a considerable increase in the registration for vaccination.

Diwali Pahat celebrations were given go ahead by the dCM on Friday. Band troupes are allowed to perform by the Pune municipal corporation. Vikram Kumar said that the permission is given provided the band artistes have received both doses of vaccination.
