Riyadh: UN science award of $250k sponsored by Saudi Arabia launched

Riyadh, Oct 21: A global award sponsored by the Kingdom to inspire young talents in science, engineering, mathematics and technology is launched in the UN.

This announcement was made by Al-Fozan Foundation during the 212th session of the executive council of the organization. UN educational, scientific and cultural organizations plus the permanent delegation of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO are also cooperating with the foundation in this matter.

Prize money totalling $250000 will be awarded to five young researchers from the five regions of UN around the world. This award is the first of its kind sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the UNESCO.

This award is bi-yearly and will be judged by five jurors specialized in the fields of mathematics, science, engineering and technology who will select the winners.
