Mangaluru: Bike-borne miscreants attempt to murder BJP activist near Konaje

Mangaluru, Oct 19: An attempt on the life of a BJP activist was made near Konaje during the late night hours on Monday October 18.

The murder attempt was made on Prakash Shetty (38), a BJP activist and former member of Konaje gram panchayat. It is learnt that three persons riding a motorbike were involved with this crime.

Prakash Shetty was returning home along with a friend, Manjunath, by a motorbike when the miscreants who approached their bike from behind, swung a sabre at Prakash. Miraculously, the sabre could only brush the hand of Shetty, Injured Prakash is being treated in a private hospital at Deralakatte.

During last week, Usman, who owns Konaje Stores and Sweets stall near Konaje Junction, had been caught by the locals and handed over to the police. It is felt that this could be a retaliation attempt relating to that incident.
