Mangaluru, Oct 17: Miscreants damaged the Baikampady Karkera Moolasthana Jarandaya Daivastana and Naga Brahma Peeta, reportedly late night on Saturday October 16.
Many incidents of vandalizing religious places are taking place in and around the city of late. This hurts the sentiments of people belonging to respective religion.
Devotees who went to the Daivasthana on Sunday October 17 morning, noticed the vandalisation and informed the same to the administrative committee who in turn informed the matter to the police. The cops rushed to the spot.
One idol of Naga is demolished. Stone image of Nandi is also vandalized. The cupboard in the religious place is broken and all items inside are thrown down. Gates to the religious place are broken.
There is need to provide security to such religious places, said locals.
