Ajman: Free Dental Checkup Camp Organised at GMC Hospital

Ajman, Oct 27: A free dental checkup camp was organized recently at the GMC Super Specialty Dental Centre , GMC Hospital, Ajman.

Chief guest Prof Gita Ashok Raj, provost of Gulf Medical University presided over the programme.

The humanitarian gesture was extended to 40 students of Manzil (a centre for challenged Individuals – children with special needs), Sharjah. In order to familiarize with the dental instruments and the procedures required for the dental checkup, students in the age group of 4 to 17 years who attended the camp were briefed about the same. 

After a thorough checkup by dental surgeons each student was provided with his/her dental checkup report and written oral hygiene instructions both in English and Arabic.

As a gesture of appreciation by GMC Hospital, each student was rewarded with a dental gift voucher worth AED 50.

The camp, arranged for a philanthropic cause, is one of the many free social events organized by the Thumbay Group throughout the year. Akbar Moideen, director of GMC Hospital concluded the eventful programme on a positive note by adding that the free dental checkup camp is a part of the ongoing community outreach programmes of GMC Hospitals.
