Governor Presents Construction World Award to Dr E Sreedharan

Mumbai, Oct 25: The Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan presented the prestigious Construction World Award of the Year 2010 to the managing director of Delhi Metro Dr E Sreedharan, recently for his outstanding contribution to the creation of infrastructure projects like the Konkan Railway and the Delhi Metro ahead of schedule.

Praising Dr Sreedharan for his services to the nation, the Governor called upon the construction industry to gear up to meet the infrastructural requirements of emerging India. He added that India cannot become a first rate world power if it continues to live with third rate infrastructure. He also urged the construction industry to adopt socially responsible practices, addressing the issues of enhancing the skills of construction workers and their welfare.



Dr Sreedharan was presented the award in a glittering function organized by the Construction World magazine.

Replying to the felicitation, Dr Sreedharan called upon the captains of construction industry to observe punctuality in project implementation and to keep their commitment to society.

Maharashtra Airport Development Co vice-chairman and managing director R C Sinha, ASAPP Media chairman Professor Atul Tandon, Reliance Consumer Finance CEO K V Srinivasan, Construction World magazine editor-in-chief Pratap Padode, Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) president and chief operating officer Vinayak Deshpande and other eminent persons were present on the occasion.
