Dubai : Fans Pay Tribute to Singer Max Karkada

Dubai, Oct 24 : Mangalorean Friends of Late McMorise Cliffton Karkada (MAX) along with his community members assembled at Winny’s Restaurant, Karama for a condolence meet today the 23rd October, 2010 at around 7 PM.
The condolence meet started with a brief by Shodhan and prayer by the visiting Pastor Dr. Stafford Cripps, Chairman & Board of Director for YMCA, Andheri, Mumbai.  Dr. Stafford who also was the former National Chaplain for Gideon International, India read out the verses of the Holy Bible and gave the reference to its current happenings which is being narrated in the holy book.

Later a video presentation called ‘A Tribute to Max’ was presented by Shodhan showing the clippings of Max’s various photos, memories of various occasions and concluded with the funeral video taken live at Haleyangadi during his last rites (courtesy GulfKannadiga.com). 



















Soon after the presentation, all those who gathered prayed,  lighted candles and showered flowers on the portrait of their beloved Max for his soul to rest in peace.  All of them prayed to Almighty to bless Max’s family with strength and courage to bear this unbearable loss.

Those who assembled included Harish Sherigar of Acme Building Materials, Noel D. Almeida, President of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Satish Poojary, Purushottam Salian, Prabhakar Suvarna, Anand Bailoor, Jagannath Bellare, Deepa Jagannath, Dinesh Salian, Mayur Salian, Sandhya Shodhan all from Billawas Dubai & Northern Emirates, Anand, Bhasker, Harold and many other loving community members from Unity Kannada Church, Dubai/Sharjah.

Harold, Bhasker, Anand, Harish and Dr. Stafford spoke about their association with Max and remembered the good old days; the memories of yesteryear and the personality of Max as a person.  Dr. Stafford said that he did not had an opportunity to meet Max but was fortunate enough to know about him, just  a day before his demise through the community magazine.  He explained the sacred verses and the importance of it to the mankind. His brief on life and death with examples were really touching.

The meeting concluded with light refreshments which were organized by Harish Sherigar, Shodhan Prasad and Anand along with other friends.

    We all know our belvoed Max is no more. But here i feel this is just a publicity stunt. Is it necessary refreshment sponsor name to be mentioned. After all its a condolence meeting..God bless this sponsor and save them
