Yet Another Congress MLA Undergoes 'Operation Kamala'

Bangalore, Oct 21:
Yet another Congress MLA, M Narayanaswamy, elected from the Bangarpet Assembly Constituency, has fallen prey to ruling BJP’s controversial 'Operation Kamala' and resigned his seat.

Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah, who had become the centre of controversy through his decision of disqualifying as many as 11 BJP MLAs and 5 Independents within a couple of hours before the crucial floor test being faced by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on October 11 at 10.30 am, has accepted the resignation of Narayanaswamy.

Narayanaswamy is the second Congress MLA to undergo 'Operation Kamala' and resign his Assembly membership after the Jagalur MLA, S V Ramachandrappa, a couple of days.

The ruling party has also ensured another resignation from JD(S) MLA from Channapatna, M C Channapatna, who had abstained from the assembly during the second floor test faced by Yeddyurappa in the assembly on October 14.

The strength of the Congress party has now come down to 71 from 73. It may be recalled that 80 MLAs had won from the Congress party in the May 2008 assembly elections, and the party had lost most of its members due to 'Operation Kamala.'

Meanwhile, speculation is ripe in political circles that the ruling BJP is seriously attempting to 'persuade' at least another 8 to 10 Congress MLAs to resign their seats. The possibility of a few more JD(S) MLAs quitting their seats as part of 'Operation Kamala' cannot be ruled out.

In the second trust vote, which was successfully faced and won by Yeddyurappa with 106 to 100 votes, the ruling party has already managed to improve its victory margin by 9 following the resignation of the 2 Congress and 1 JD(S) MLA.

Incidentally, there are conflicting claims about another BJP MLA, Manappa Vajjal from Lingsugur, who had abstained from the assembly during the second trust vote on October 14, is believed to have been persuaded by the ruling party not to ditch the Chief Minister. However, the dissident BJP MLAs, who are camping in the posh Golden Palm Resort on the Bangalore-Tumkur Road near Nelamangala, claim that Manappa Vajjal is 'very much with us and will never support Yeddyurappa.'

If Manappa Vajjal decides to support Yeddyurappa, the ruling party’s majority in the assembly will go up by 11, including the vote from the Speaker, who is technically a BJP man,

The ruling party, evidently, is keen to improve its strength and reducing the size of the opposition Congress and JD(S) members through Operation Kamala to ensure the safety of the Chief Minister in the event of the High Court’s decision in the writ petitions challenging the disqualification of the 11 BJP MLAs and 5 Independent MLAs were to go against its interest.

KPCC President R V Deshpande and former Chief Minister and State JD(S) President H D Kumaraswamy have strongly condemned the unethical practices and 'Operation Kamala' to force Congress and JD(S) MLAs to resign by offering money or positions of power. They demanded that the Govenor should immediately dismiss the BJP Government as it had lost its majority and was resorting to illegal, unconstitutional and undemocratic means to continue in power.

Kumaraswamy has promised to release audio and video CD regarding the promise made to Gubbi JD(S) MLA, S R Srinivas, by a senior minister belonging to Vokkaliga community in the Yeddyurappa cabinet offering huge sums of money and promise of even ministership.

Karnataka politics has become the dirtiest in the whole of India. Yeddy has enough and more money to buy any no. of MLAs. There are no morals and there is no ethics. Just a matter of money, power and position.

Yeddi is a beggar. Reddy bros with their looted money kit can purchase any MLA's of Congress & JD(S). Any how there is no difference between BJP, Congress & JD(S). All politicians are theives. Their main motto is to make money, and that too in hordes.

Dear Venkat bangalore, who started all these. How come Kumaraswamy was accompanying rebel MLAs to Goa / Chennai / Maharashtra. Is he running a transport company to all these places. At the behest of the Congress Agent Governor and Congress Party, he started offering huge sums of money to these MLAs. Naturally BJP has to take steps to overcome this.

U know during all these years since independence how many opposition ruled stage govt's were toppled by Congress by offering money and power? The trend continues with other parties are also following the same path. It is well known that Congress Governors are always helping tools in Congress game plan in opposition ruled states. Even the opposition govts. with 2/3 majority were toppled for the Congress by dirty means. In this country congress was fooling people since independence.

Two of the most respected magazines in India - Outlook and India Today - have now branded Karnataka as the MOST corrupt State in the Country. That is a far cry from one of the most respected states in terms of efficiency, lack of corruption, communal harmony etc just a few years ago. Jai Ho BJP....!

Abraham Lincoln said: Democracy is of the people, for the people and by the people. Now the mobocracy has taken over, manipulated by muscle power and the money power. Dharma has gone for a long holiday in the politics of today. Democracy is described today as for the money, of the money and buy the money by the powerful group of sectarian leaders of the society.

These scoundrels one day become ministers and talk on morals, honoesty, discipline, loyalty, etc., in front of people. Innocent people should believe them and vote again and again to loot the country and cheat the people.

Good BJP, keep it up. Let these new son-in-laws of BJP form another group there and bring down this unethical govt.

Take it from me that no body will be re-elected again as JD(S) and Congress are moving very closely like beaten snakes. Even Reddy's Rs.1000 crores expense during byelection will not help BJP for these thugs to get re-elected.

India’s democracy is at stake. To maintain the sanctity of our democracy strict laws are essential to prevent dirty horse-trading of MLAs with money power. Resort politics of transporting MLAs as horses in trucks is a shame on those greedy MLAs who could stoop so low for money. The election Commission should find a solution to this problem of jumping the fence or in the coming years the election process will have no meaning.

MLA’s are like commodity, available for a price, and we call it democracy. Potatoes, tomatoes, onions attain far greater respect, being useful for human consumption than our elected representatives. These MLA’s are like parasites perhaps more dangerous than these blood sucking creatures. Imagine how much unaccounted money is in store with so called ruling party to pay for these salable MLA’s. Now people will understand their blunder.

Wow, where is Siddu, Deshu, Shivu?????? You cannot control your own MLA & your congress supporting BJP MLAs in Goa. Both JDs & Congress, if you have guts to win the election again, resign all your seats & go to people. I know you cant because you will not win half of your seats what you have now.

Soon only Shivu will be in Congress, wait even Siddu will jump to some other party soon. GOD please save this CONgress.

What "Operation Kamala", now the congress and JD(s) MLAs are resigning, as they are fed up with the dirty game played by their parties at the behest of remote controlled Guv. One wonder how may MLAs will be retained by both these parties till the next assembly elections. There is no question that Yeddy govt. is fare more better than these two parties.

The BJP government is the worst govt. ever seen in the state, more than that Yedurappa is the worst CM ever see in Kannadigas history. He has thrown the RSS ideologies in the wind and looted the poeple's money. As a kannadiga, I hate all the political parites and humbly request for President's rule.

Shameless Yeddyurappa ! It is high time the judiciary intervenes to stop this "ravana rajya". It started all of this or laid the seeds through the first operation kamala. Government should fall now, to make the proverb "as you sow, so shall you reap" come true ...

I feel the governor must sack this govt without waiting for courts verdict. The decision taken by the governor to implement president rule was better. The court is delaying the verdict so that BSY may collect more n more MLAs from opposition. Even a uneducated person can point out that the speaker was totally wrong but the judges are not able to take decision. So pathetic Indian Judiciary.
