Mangaluru: Missing wife, children found - Complainant however was not her husband

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 24: The case relating to a woman from Ashok Nagar here going missing with her two children has encountered a curious twist now. The person who complained to the police that his wife and two children had gone missing, was found to be not the missing woman's husband. This truth has come as a rude shock not only to the policemen but also the local people.

Renuka Chowwadal (30) was residing in Ashok Nagar with two children and a person named Nagaraj Halappa for the last some months. On September 18, Renuka along with her children had suddenly gone missing. At that time, Nagaraj was not at home as he was on a visit to his native place. He was surprised on his return to find his family missing and enquired with the house owner who told him that Renuka informed that she was leaving for her aunt's house. After searching for Renuka and her children everywhere, he had filed complaint in Urwa police station here, stating that his wife and children were not to be found.

Urwa police station (police station)

The police who undertook the investigation had shocking information in store. They realised that Nagaraj Halappa is not Renuka's husband. Renuka's husband is no more, and after his death, Renuka came close to Nagaraj and she came here with him looking for a stable future, without marrying him. The four lived together and the people in the area believed Nagaraj was Renuka's husband.

It is said that Nagaraj had recently started to behave violently with Renuka. Taking advantage of Nagaraj's absence when he was away visiting his native place, Renuka had returned to her house. The police who went searching for her traced her at Gadag. Nagaraj who was in Mangaluru was also questioned and it was revealed that they were living together without marriage.

Nagaraj said he wanted to live with Renuka but she was determined to stay alone, find an employment, and look after her children. As she said she does not want to live with Nagaraj, the police said they have advised them to live separately.

Though living together as husband and wife without marriage is wrong, morally and per religious belief, a lot of people are in live-in relationship today and I find many among people who work in software companies in Bangalore. Such people, without any written agreement, are always at the mercy of the relatives. Those people, should go for an agreement called Maitri Karaar (Friendship agreement) and register that agreement in govt portal. Then legally, no brother or sister of those live-ins can trouble them.

Also, when such agreement is registered, the man will be exonerated from charges of rape that the woman gave sex on the promise of marriage.

Neptune/ Mars.... The ones who conceal their real names too will never understand anything remotely connected with humor. Here also brain and kidney exchange places and in many such cases the objective is just to spew venom and spread hatred all round. Or else why adopt fancy names? If you are not clear, afraid then only you adopt such dubious names.

Your real name is not Bhandarkar. Your name is one and you named yourself under fake identity. As long as u dnt reveal yoir real name, dont expect others to do so. By writing Bhandarkar, do you think people believe that you are belonging to majority? No way. Reveal your true name dat your parents gave when baptized you. Now dont comment exchanging your brain and kidneys.

"keep" is the indian version of live-in... this is prevalent since very long time... in my school, I had classmates who looked like brothers... but actually mothers are different... that is why wife of a noble man is referred to as "ಧರ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿ" .. it implies that the man might be having additional ಅಧರ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿ… ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡವಳು, and ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡವಳು

It is legal. A live in relationship for a long time is a marriage as per court of law. However, married persons opting for live in relationship with outsider is complicated. It becomes a civil case not criminal case. However, proof must be provided in court of law for all the above.

Only a hate filled jerk could judge an entire region, religion and community based on a few off incidents. Monsters are found in every region and religion, even in all of us,the point is if we let the monster get bigger or keep it tamed. Being unnecessarily judgemental is a sign of weakness and the fact that the monster controls the person.
