Kadaba: PM's office responds to Kombaru villager's letter on network problem

Daijiworld Media Network - Kadaba (SP)

Kadaba, Sep 24: Jagadish Kaparu, an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activist, had written to the Prime Minister (PM) on behalf of the villagers of Kombaru in the taluk, drawing his attention to the problems his fellow villagers have been facing because of the network problem. The officials of the PM's office have positively responded to this letter.

Kombaru is a hamlet surrounded by forest. Even though the village has a BSNL tower, whenever there is a power outage, the network fails to work. Because of this problem, people of Kaparu, Bagpuni, Mugeradka, Kalaya, Kallartane, Kanala, Manibhanda, Kateti, Perundodi and Anila, which are parts of the said village, are facing grave problems. The villagers say that they had requested the telecom officials many times to address their problems but nothing was done.

Jagadish had explained in his letter about the problem of wild animals faced by the people and also that the villagers find it impossible to contact the outer world in case of emergencies including health complications. "The students who depend on online classes because of the coronavirus situation, too, are deprived of education because of network issues. Therefore, BSNL has to address the network problem. Towers of other private telecom companies too should be erected to mitigate the problems of the people," he had urged the PM.

The PM's office officials have immediately responded and informed Jagadish that they have directed the BSNL Mangaluru officials to take suitable steps to address the network problem. The BSNL Mangaluru officials immediately wrote a letter to Jagadish and contacted him over phone, duly promising him to connect the tower to battery so that the network does not get disconnected when there is power supply problem.

Jagadish stated that having been frustrated by the network problems in Kombaru village, he had written to the PM and that he has got a response. He said that the BSNL officials from Mangaluru have promised to address the problem. He said that the villagers hope that the problem will be addressed at the earliest.

BSNL or any telecom provider should be taken to task by PMO, as it was their duty to provide it to the customer, village or city.BSNL mainly failed due to their careless work,as the ppl working there were easy going..govt job, like a unshakable position.. now all know what is their situation,

Why every problem should go to PMO. Then what is the need of local administration and local MLA, MPs. Can't we have a system in place where local problems are solved locally. There are many locations which still not getting proper network. Instead of solving one area problem why can't the PMO direct the local administration all over the country to develop proper systems to solve local issues there itself.

BSNL has "promised" to address the problem, but are promises kept? Any letter to PM goes to the grievance portal and is not read but just forwarded back to the same official who did not do the job in the first instance and will not do it again, there is no solution to the problem but the matter is considered as "resolved".

Why cannot the central government sell the BSNL to Ambani or Adani? Now when class' for students have started offline the PM's office responses. The students must have suffered even last academic year. Too late Sirji or getting ready for the third wave, hope not.
