Sep 22: DK reports 108 corona cases, Udupi 47; seven deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 22: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, Sep 22 reported 108 new coronavirus cases and five deaths, while Udupi registered 47 new cases and two deaths.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 17,87,726 samples have been tested so far, out of which 16,74,212 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,13,514 out of which 1,125 are currently active.

As many as 121 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday.

The district recorded five deaths due to coronavirus on Wednesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,640.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,06,43,070 as fine in 87,504 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 11,06,124 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 47 new cases were reported on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 75,907 out of which 528 are currently active.

A total of 268 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday.

Out of 47 new patients, 38 are in home isolation while 9 are in Covid-designated hospitals.

Among the 47 cases, as many as 32 are symptomatic and 15 are asymptomatic.

While Udupi reported 31 new cases, Kundapur registered 8 and Karkala 8.

Coronavirus has claimed 471 lives in the district so far including one death on Wednesday.

So far 8,84,993 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 3,83,075 have received the second dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far and one case is active.

    Till our administration takes actions against SALOON ,for using same APRON to all customers. Nowadays USE AND CUT/ or destroy type APRON has introduced in SALOONS. But they just fold and use the same to next customers as it's fresh. Till our health department and DC takes action, I think this virus will not be controlled.

    Unless one uses the apron to wipe the nose.............Also there's a difference between Saloon and Salon
