Mortal remains of cycle shop owner found from Kaup beach

Kaup, Sep 22: The mortal remains of Santhosh Poojary (40), who was washed away in the sea at Hejamady, was found in the beach behind the government higher primary school at Kaup Padu on Tuesday September 21 evening.

The locals had got information that a body was floating in the sea. Local resident and driver of Kaup municipality, Nitesh Kumar, retrieved the body. Later, it was shifted to the mortuary at Udupi.

Chandrashekhar, a lifeguard deployed in Kaup beach, informed the police about the incident. Kaup police sub-inspector Raghavendra C, along with other personnel, visited the spot and conducted scrutiny.

Santhosh, who was married, used to operate a bicycle shop in Hejamady downtown. Reasons under which his death happened are not yet known. Kaup police are investigating.
