Maharashtra Gets New Chief Information Commissioner


Mumbai, Oct 14 (IANS) Vilas Bhagwat Patil was sworn in as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Maharashtra Thursday at a brief ceremony here at the Raj Bhavan.

Governor K. Sankaranarayanan administered the oath of office to Patil.

Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, opposition leader and outgoing chief information commissioner Suresh Joshi were present on the occasion. Patil was earlier information commissioner in Nagpur.
