Maharashtra Governor Opens Watershed Project


Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), Oct 13 (IANS) Maharashtra Governor K. Sankaranarayanan Wednesday visited model village Ralegan Siddhi in Ahmednagar district following an invitation from noted social activist Anna Hazare.

Sankaranarayanan visited the Padmavati well and inaugurated a watershed recharge project.

"It is a unique project and will help surrounding villages with ample water supply if utilised optimally," Sankaranarayanan said.

He also visited the percolation tank at Pathardara watershed area and later the Kohni watershed area of the Parner taluka (sub-district).

Sankaranarayanan also visited the Padmavati temple and inaugurated a "bhakta niwas" (devotees' inn).
