Sep 11: DK reports 133 corona cases, four deaths; Udupi adds 86 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 11: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, Sep 11 reported 133 new coronavirus cases and four deaths, while Udupi registered 86 new cases.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 16,70,405 samples have been tested so far, out of which 15,58,212 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,12,193 out of which 1,812 are currently active.

As many as 343 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

The district recorded four deaths due to coronavirus on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,610.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,05,93,670 as fine in 87,014 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 10,43,897 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 86 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 75,040.

A total of 91 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

Out of 86 new patients, 64 are in home isolation while 22 are in Covid-designated hospitals.

Among the 86 cases, as many as 61 are symptomatic and 25 are asymptomatic.

While Udupi reported 48 new cases, Kundapur registered 23 and Karkala 13 and two cases were from out of district.

Coronavirus has claimed 458 lives in the district so far.

So far, 8,30,918 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 3,09,807 have received the second dose.

A total of 52 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
