Panaji: Consumers can file complaints online via e-daakhil portal

Panaji, Sep 11: Unhappy consumers can now file their complaints online on the 'e-daakhil' portal launched in Goa. They can sit at home and send in complaints to both the district as well as the state consumer disputes redressal commission.

The consumer must first register on the portal, then they can register their complain. The consumer is directed automatically to the respective district or state commission, with a chart which shows the available fees and guides them on making the required payment. The 'e-daakhil' portal allows the consumers to attach the documents required for proof, and also to make the required payment online when filing their complaints.

Govind Gaude minister of civil supplies who launched the online filing portal reported saying, "Consumers who feel cheated can easily approach consumer commissions, which will in turn ensure vendors are more careful."

"The e-daakhil software, besides facilitating consumers to file complaints, also allowed respondents to file replies and rejoinders through the online mode", said scientist D at NIC Goa and G Mahalingam.

On September7, 2020 e-filing was launched by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal commission. On September 8,2020, it was first implemented in Delhi, followed by other states.

The staff reported saying they are used to receiving hard copies and there are no rules or systems in place for handling online payments.
