Riyadh, Sep 9: On Thursday, explosive drones launched by Houthi militia towards Khamis Mushayt was intercepted and destroyed by Saudi Arabia air defence.

On a nearly daily basis, the Houthis launch the modified drones toward the kingdom. On Wednesday, the Houthi military positions in the Southern Yemeni city of Taiz was targeted by the Arab coalition. After the coalition destroyed a missile and drones targeting Abha airport in southern Saudi Arabia last week, eight people were injured by falling debris.

After Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, in 2014, an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia aims to restore the legitimacy of Yemen to the internationally recognised government. The kingdom has urged the group to engage in dialogue to bring about a peaceful resolution, but there has been no progress ,and in some parts of Yemen the fighting has increased.

Fighters from the government and Houthis, have died in Marib by fighting intensely.

Videos show balls of fire and smoke billowing from locations targeted.
