Second Annual Day of KDCC, Israel Celebrated

Israel, Oct 7: KDCC Israel celebrated the second annual day, recently.

The annual day began with the Holy Mass at St Antony’s Church, Yaffo. Dr Fr Peter Machado, Bishop of Belgaum with the Karwar diocese members celebrated the Mass with Fr Jayashilan as the co-celebrant.

On the second day’s cultural event which was held in Telaviv’s Dhul centre, Fr. Praveen D'Souza, Fr Jayashilan, Indian Community president Benna D'Souza, Herziliya, KCS secretary Vinitha D'Souza were the guests. KDCC president Jacob Fernandes and secretary Ravi too were present.

Event began with the prayer dance from Diana and friends. KDCC president Jacob Fernandes welcomed all with his beautiful speech. Secretary Ravi Lobo presented the annual report of KDCC. Donors who
helped KDCC financially were appreciated. On this historical KDCC’s annual day elders of KDCC honoured Fr Praveen D'Souza.

Fr Jayashilan who for many years now provided his service to Indians in Israel and also the locals, was previously honoured by the patricians of Jerusalem as Chaplin of Indians.

The backbone of the creation of KDCC Israel and the root member of the welfare of KDCC, writer and director of eight dramas, three dramas written, directed and played in Israel well known as “Dreamer” Jacob Fernandes, Upper Kasargod.

With many Konkani hits to his credit, he is one of the well known young musician of modern generation in Konkani music industry. Uzwad is one of his release in Israel and many more to come.

Prior of KDCC’ annual day it had organized sports day and talent show. Winners of the competition were rewarded with prizes. Karwar diocese’s only magazine ‘Darshan’ for its promotion organized its second Darshan Trophy. Winners were presented with the trophy.

Fr Jayashilan expressed his feelings with a short talk. Fr Praveen presided. Johnson D'Souza, vice-president of KDCC delivered the vote of thanks. Roshan Monteiro was the master of the ceremony.

After stage programme, a drama called “Divorce” written and directed by ‘DREAMER JACOB ISRAEL’ was played to the audiences, where diocese members played and acted. The music was by Prakash Fernandes.

    well done all the KDCC members and all those who generously supported the event! Congratulations. We need to do more as "Indians & Konkanis" in Israel. Lets come together as one people and support to build up the Church in Israel! Hoping for your greater support!
