Panaji: Goa Eyes Games Visitors

Panaji, Oct 5 (IANS) With tourists in the country for the Commonwealth Games (CWG), India's best known sun and sand destination Goa can't be far behind. The state is busy churning out brochures and leaflets to attract visitors.

Nikhil Desai, managing director of Goa Handicraft Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation, said more than 30,000 brochures and 20,000 leaflets carrying information about the state will be distributed in a major advertising endeavour.

"The information is a blend of both Goa and Delhi. We have published both information about the Delhi Metro service as well as info about Goa and its various handicrafts," Desai told reporters, adding the campaign would focus on busy thoroughfare sites as well as Metro stations in the national capital.

"What we also foresee is an increase in the traffic on our website where one can buy products online," Desai said, adding that the plan was to create a buzz about Goa among CWG invitees.
