Riyadh, Aug 31: Drone laden with explosives, fired by Houthi militia of Yemen targeting Abha international airport, was successfully intercepted by Saudi air defense according to the statement released by Arab colalition.

The coalition forces shot down two drones on Monday, August 30. One of them was targeted at Jazan while the other was intended to fall on Najran. Large parts of these provinces, which are at the border of the Kingdom, are controlled by militants after they took over the Yemen capital of Sanaa in 2014.

The coalition has vowed to take tough action against the Houti rebels as they are repeatedly attacking civilian targets. On Sunday also the air defence of the kingdom brought down three drones that were targeted at the city of Khamis Mushayt in the province of Abha, Asir.
