Varsity Kannada Department Hosts Lecture on Drama

A special lecture on Kannada drama was held at Ranade Bhavan of Kannada department, Mumbai University, on Wednesday September 29.
 
Mumbai University Kannada department head Dr G N Upadhya in his introductory address quoted a verse from Kalidasa’s poetry – ‘Kavyeshu Nataka Ramyam’, to convey the effectiveness of drama in reaching the message to the general masses. 

 
He extolled the significant achievements of Subraya Bhat who was trained by Professor Bharadwaj in drama.  Dr Upadhya also urged the Kannada department to organize seminars for the benefit of students and research fellows.
 
Vittal Shetty, Anusuya, Bhuvaneshwari, Sharada Ambesange, Rajeshwari, Priya, and Shivaraj were present on the occasion.
 
Jyothi Devadiga compered the programme while Mariyappa Natekar proposed the vote of thanks.
