Riyadh: Stimulant drug Khat confiscated by Saudi authority

Riyadh, Aug 20: A Saudi citizen was arrested by the authorities in Jazan, while he was trying to smuggle 380 kgs of Khat, a stimulant drug in his vehicle.

The man in his 30s was arrested by the field patrols of Jazan and Harub. This information was given to the press by Abdulmajid Al-Kanaan, spokesman for the general administration of Mujahideen. Kanaan also said that legal measures will be taken against the accused.

Border Guards had seized a whopping 25.4 tonnes of Khat in the month of May during security operations and arrested 16 Yemeni nationals in the Jazan region.
