Riyadh: US secretary of state holds discussion with Saudi FM over political situation in Afghan

Riyadh, Aug 19: US Secretary of state Antony Blinken and Saudi Foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan had a telephonic discussion on Wednesday, August 18 over the present political situation prevailing in Afghanistan.

The discussion was mainly based on the way the two nations can help the citizens of Afghanistan during the present crisis as Taliban extremist forces have captured the country’s administration.

In addition, the duo also held an overview of the relationship of the US with Saudi Arabia. Capital of Afghanistan Kabul fell for the Taliban extremists on Sunday, August 15 and president Ashraf Ghani fled for safety to the UAE.
