Yashvir Singh Wins FILA 'Coach of the Year' Award


New Delhi, Sep 25 (PTI): World Championship gold-medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar's coach Yashvir Singh today became the first Indian to win the International Wrestling Federation's 'Coach of the Year' award. 

"The International Federation Associated Wrestling Style (FILA) has in consultation with Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) selected Yashvir Singh, coach of world champion Sushil Kumar, as the FILA Coach of the year 2010," the Wrestling Federation of India President G S Mander said in a statement.

"He will be presented his award at Murcia (Spain) on December 12 during the Free Style 2010 Advanced School of Coaches," it added.

Yashvir was in Moscow with Sushil when he became the first Indian wrestler to clinch a gold in the World Championships earlier this year.
