Daijiworld Media Network – Riyadh (MS)

Riyadh, Aug 9: Saudi air defences intercepted and destroyed two booby-trapped drones that were launched by Houthi militants from Yemen towards Saudi Arabia. This information was confirmed by coalition forces which support the legitimate government of Yemen.

The drones were purportedly aimed at Khamis Mushayt city on the western part of the kingdom. Saudi state TV Al Ekhbariyah and the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) tweeted in this regard. The statement also said that this was a deliberate attempt by the Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian targets.

Houthi rebels, who are supported by Iran, attack Saudi Arabia repeatedly with armed drones, rockets and ballistic missiles. This attack is carried out by the rebels of Yemen when the UN is trying to broker a peace agreement between the Houthis and Yemeni government.
