Mumbai: Two books by Dr Vishwanath Karnad awarded prizes of Rs 25000 each

Mumbai, Aug 4: The department of Kannada and culture, Mumbai university has awarded prizes of Rs 25000 each to Kannada book ‘Mumbai Tuluvara Valase’ and ‘Samachintana’ by Mumbai university Kannada department guest lecturer, veteran author Dr Vishwanath Karnad. The book with details of the settlement of Tuluvas in Mumbai is being reprinted.

Dr Karnad is one among those who nurtured Kannada in Mumbai. He is multitalented and has made a name for himself as a lecturer, researcher, poet, story writer, translator etc. He is fluent in Tulu, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi and English languages. He has received several awards for his works.
