Bengaluru, Jul 22 (IANS): Amid speculation of change of leadership in the state, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Wednesday appealed to party workers and supporters not to indulge in protests or issue statements, despite any political developments.

"I am privileged to be a loyal worker of BJP. It is my utmost honour to serve the party with the highest standards of ethics and behaviour. I urge everyone to act in accordance with party ethics and not indulge in protests or indiscipline that is disrespectful and embarrassing for the party," he said in a tweet in Kannada.

"The party is equivalent to my mother. The affection should not cross its limits. The disrespect towards the party would be too painful for me. I hope my well-wishers will understand my feelings in this regard," he wrote.

Siddaganga Mutt seer Siddalinga Swami, who led a delegation of seers to meet Yediyurappa, said : "He (the CM) told us that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party President J.P. Nadda have special respect for him as they allowed no one who are aged above 75 but him to rule."

"CM also said that he would work for the party until his last breath," he added.

    I thought BJP had a policy of retiring politicians above the age of 75, with the exception of Modi and Yediyurappa, in this case I think the central leadership wants Yediyurappa to step down gracefully, because they do not want to hurt the sentiments of his caste, but whatever be it once Yedi leaves the scene it is difficult for BJP to get majority in Karnataka, there will be a hung assembly and Kumaraswamy will be the chief minister again.

    With these comments from BSY, now it is almost certain and definite that, he is going to be removed from the CM post and someone else will be installed to complete the remaining power term. So with this 78/79 aged BSY will slowly receding from his political life, which is including corruption charges. He will be remembered for that only. In the end....that is it. ALL THE BEST DEAR B.S.Y & please try to settle somewhere in Old Age Home.

    this nalayak person and party both have to be kicked out in next elections..there are so many issues in the state including the oncoming of third wave, and these saffron morons are behind CM, cd and all nonsensical matters. hope the public of at least other districts, if not DK and Udupi understand the fact and vote these people out.. at least during the reign of Siddaramaiah, this kirikiri was not there.

    Maximum age should be limited to 65 and qualification should be Graduate but not below. Also allow them to become MLA, MP only for 3 times but not beyond.
