Kundapur, Jul 20: “There is no confusion or chaos among us. High command will decide with regards to the leadership of the party in the state. The chief minister (CM) is doing excellent work because of years of experience. He has asked in-charge ministers to give more attention towards the districts and their respective constituencies. There is need to give more attention to development including Covid control. We are doing our duty. When there is any issue related to leader or leadership, state BJP leader Nalin Kumar, national president Nadda and the BJP high command take proper decisions,” said minister Kota Srinivas Poojary.

Poojary spoke to the media at Kota in the taluk. He further said, “CM B S Yediyurappa is continuing as an able administrator. The party is well organized. All MLAs, MPs and ministers are carrying out their works with dedication.”

The then fisheries minister and current minister for backward communities, Kota Srinivas Poojary had released Rs seven crore for constructing road from Padukare of Kotathattu gram panchayat to Kodi Kanyana based on the recommendation of the then MLA Halady Srinivasa Shetty. Now five-km stretch of concrete road is completed. Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary viewed the road work by walking on foot on Tuesday July 20. Many locals welcomed the minister with garlands and flower bouquets.

With regards to resolving the issues faced by fishermen, Poojary said, “All friends in Congress, including D K Shivakumar should not cover up reality. The BJP government has given all facilities to the fishermen community. When I was the fisheries minister Rs 181 crore is released for the Hejamady minor port, the project, which was rotting on the table for 30 years. The CM himself has called the tender and laid the foundation stone. This is historical matter. The jetty at Kodi Kanyana and removal of silt was stalled because of CRZ and green tribunal issues. Now I and minister Angara are forming a project to remove the silt of jetty at Kodi Kanyana. During the first phase after assuming power, CM Yediyurappa has waived Rs 60 crore loan taken by 23,000 fisherwomen on the request of MLA. 22,000 people have already got the benefit. Due to technical reasons, one to two thousand people might not have got their loans waived. We will look into it and get the same waived. Saving compensation schemes were lying idle for many years. We have contacted the union and state governments and will give that compensation. We will also place a proposal for boat ambulance. Our government is working hard for the fishermen of the state.”

Stressing that more work is done in Byndoor constituency because of MP B Y Raghavendra, minister Poojary said, “I have noticed that Angara after assuming the position of fisheries minister has participated in meetings and programmes in Udupi and Mangaluru and has taken related projects and opinions. Lots of works are done in Byndoor constituency because of MP Raghavendra, who is representing the Lok Sabha constituency. Due to the efforts of MLA and MP, more grants are released to Byndoor. The substandard works done by the contractor will be brought to the notice of Angara.”

Though the minister walked five km to view the road work, because of the special concern taken by local leader Irodi Vittal Poojary the road work is completed successfully. Local villagers expressed their gratitude through their leader Kodi Chandrashekhar Navada.

Kotathattu gram panchayt president Ashwini Dinesh, Saligram town panchayat president Sulatha Hegde, member Rekha Karkera, Kodi gram panchayat president K Prabhakara Mendon, Kotathattu gram panchayat vice president Vasu Poojary, members Prakash Handattu, Sathish Kunder, Pooja Poojary Handattu, Vidya Salian, Sahirabanu, Robert Naik, Jyothi, Seetha, Pramod Hande, former president of Byndoor taluk panchayat Mahendra Poojary, vice president of APMC Udupi Krishna Poojary, BJP Kundapur area president Shankara Ankadakatte, chief secretary Sathish Poojary Vakwadi, former president of Kotathattu gram panchayat Raghu Tingalaya, president of BJP Kota Mahashakti kendra Suresh Kundar Irodi, local leaders Keshava Karkera, Shivamurthy K, Srinivas Poojary, Nagesh Poojary, Sathish Tolar, Rama Bangera, Surendra Kodi, Jagannath Amin, Udaya Tingalaya, Chandra Puthran, Uday Tingalaya Padukare, engineer of Nirmithi Kendra Ganesh Shetty and others were present.
