Jul 17, 2021: The department of Political Science and Human Rights Education Cell organised a webinar 'An Awareness on Women Reproductive Rights in India: Prospective Future' for the under graduate and law students of various colleges of Mangaluru on July 17, 2021.

Maheshchandra Nayak (HOD Law), associate professor, SDM Law College, Mangaluru, was the resource person of the webinar.

The participants were given introduction on women reproductive rights with special reference to various acts and legislations in India.

Speaker addressed students on different kinds of circumstances under which reproductive decision can be taken and he highlighted the different legislations that deal with the reproductive health of women. The concept of abortion and surrogacy were the highlighting points of the webinar.

The webinar had 93 registered participants from various colleges who actively participated and clarified their doubts.

The session was conducted on Google meet.

Gayathri B K, assistant professor, department of Political Science and Sonal D'Souza, co-ordinator, Human Rights Education Cell, were the organizers of the webinar. Neha Mukund of III BA, welcomed the speakers and the participants. Sonal D'Souza introduced the resource speaker. Chrishel D'Souza, student secretary of Human Rights Education Cell, delivered the vote of thanks.
