BPO Jobs on Your Finger Taps!

Chennai, Sep 12 (IANS): Good news for those aspiring to work in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector! Now any one seeking a job in a BPO can apply dialling a toll-free number to key in their resumes from their mobile phone.

The aspirants can also record their voice on the toll-free number -- once this is done, the mobile number gets registered into the system.

This service, DialBPOJobs, is available in five cities - New Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. After finding the initial response encouraging, the New Delhi-based job portal company Times Business Solutions Ltd. (TBSL) has now decided to expand its service to smaller cities.

"We will soon start promoting our new service to tier-2 and tier-3 cities which generally feed BPO units with talent," DialBPOJobs head Sudhir Pai told IANS.

He said the response to the service, which was launched in July, has been good with around 95,000 fresh resumes registered by BPO job aspirants through their mobiles.

After a job aspirant completes the registration process, the data is shared with BPO units which in turn shortlist the job aspirants for an interview based on their qualification and recorded voice.

The interactive voice response system serves both as preliminary screening to check grammar and pronunciation as well as to test their skills to respond for a voice-based process.

Queried about the non-availability of the service using the landline, Pai said: "It is easier for the companies to contact the person having a cell phone. If landline registration is allowed then people may use public call offices and calling them for an interview will be difficult."
