Doha: Tulukoota Qatar Badminton champs truimph at Season 3 tournament

Doha, Jul 15: Tulukoota Qatar on July 9 organised the finals of the third season of an inter-organisation badminton tournament at Cambridge School.

The two-day event had eight Karnataka-based organisations namely KSQ, KMCA, KMCA, SKMWA, MCC, Bunts Qatar, MCA, Qatar Billawas and host Tulukoota Qatar.

A total of 105 players across the organisations participated and played the tournament in true sportsmanship and spirit. The tournament had categories ranging from young kids to senior adults above 60 who played with utmost enthusiasm.

Dr Mohan Thomas, president of Indian Sports Center, graced the event as chief guest for the closing ceremony and gave away the championship trophy to the winning team Tulukoota Qatar.

The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were MC members of ICBF and ISC, Chidanand Naik, general manager of M Pallonji Qatar. The event sponsor was the guest of honour. Platinum sponsors of the event were Safari Hypermarket, Care and Cure, Black Olive Restaurant and Fabricast. Also, gold and associate sponsors were present on the occasion.

Chaitali Uday Shetty, the president of Tulukoota welcomed everyone and presided over the event. She thanked all the Karnataka-based organisations for participating in the tournament. She also acknowledged the sponsors and presented them with a token of gratitude along with a snake plant, an initiative begun during the environment drive that started last month for which ICC had recognised Tulukoota as the best among all the participating organisations.

Tulukoota lifted the maiden championship trophy with 120 points. In the last season, Champion MCC was runners up with 35 points. Chandrashekhar Shetty, the sports secretary of Tulukoota proposed the vote of thanks.
