Mumbai: Shiv Sena justifies action of suspending 12 BJP MLAs

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai (MS)

Mumbai, Jul 8: The allegedly unruly behaviour of 12 BJP MLAs with the presiding officer of the state assembly which led to their suspension on Monday July 5 was justified by the ruling Shiv Sena. The party gave this statement in response to the allegations made by the opposition party that this move is a murder of democracy.

Shiva Sena countered the allegations of the opposition by asking the question ‘Whether the suppression of 12 names suggested by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government for the position of MLCs does not amount to the murder of democracy?” This question was raised in the editorial of the party's mouthpiece newspaper Saamna.

Former CM and present leader of the opposition Devendra Fadnavis called the action of suspending 12 BJP MLAs for one year for creating chaos in the state assembly over OBC quote matter as a murder of democracy. In addition, Devendra also said that the opposition will move the court in this matter against the ruling government.

Shiv Sena raked up the issue of 12 names recommended by them under the governor’s quote eight months ago that were suppressed and also the matter in which 19 MLAs of Congress-NCP were suspended in the past by the then ruling BJP government.
