Mumbai, Jul 5: “Everybody is aware of the importance of oxygen due to the Covid pandemic that has spread in the world at present. Therefore, we need to grow and nurture more trees. The programme should not be restricted to a day, but it should be a continuous process,” said north Mumbai Borivili Lok Sabha constituency MP, Gopal C Shetty.

Speaking after participating in Vraksharopana, the annual celebration of planting saplings and distributing saplings to various trusts and organizations, he said that the need of the hour is to have a small garden for our house, a park for the city and a forest for a village. “We should be busy planting a variety of trees. We should select the plants for a beautiful garden and give priority to the environment that provides joy.”

BJP district president Ganesh Khankar, vice-president Ermal Harish Shetty, BJP’s Yogesh Dhube, Shivananda Shetty, Anjali Khedkar, Beena Dhoshi, S Ganesh, convener Ravindra S Shetty, officials of the department of horticulture and others were present.
