Mumbai: State records 9,336 new Covid cases, 123 deaths on Jul 4

Mumbai, Jul 5: According to the statement given by the health department 123 people died of Covid on Sunday July 4, while the new cases reported stood at 9,336. The total so far of infections due to Covid reached 60,98,177 while the death toll touched 1,23,030.

On Sunday 3,378 people were discharged which took the number of recoveries in the state to 58,48,693. There are 1,23,225 active cases in the state at present.

The fatality rate is 2.01 percent while the recovery rate is 95.91 percent in the state. The City of Mumbai reported 24 deaths and 553 new cases of Covid taking the tally to 7,24,675 and the death toll to 15,554.

The new cases reported in Nasik were 669, while the corresponding figures for Pune stood at 2,380 including 764 cases reported in Satara district. Sangli reported 1,073, Kolhapur district 1,461 and Kolhapur division 389 cases. Latur division reported 242, while Akola and Nagpur reported 97 and 82 cases respectively. Aurangabad reported 194 fresh cases. Samples tested so far in the state reached 4,25,42,943 with 2,22,063 new tests that were carried out on Sunday.

Kerala logged 11,551 new Covid cases and 76 deaths on Sunday. The total tally in the state so far is 29.73 lac cases and 13,716 deaths.

The positivity rate stood at 0.13 percent in the national capital Delhi. Seven deaths and 94 fresh Covid cases were reported on Sunday. The total for the national capital is 14,34,554 cases since the pandemic began last year. The death toll is 24,995.

All over the country, coronavirus cases continued to be on the downward trend with only 43,071 cases getting reported over the last 24 hours. The total tally in the country so far reached 3,05,45,433. So far 4,02,005 people have died due to Covid after 955 people died on Sunday. However, states like Maharashtra and Kerala are a cause of concern as the cases are still rising in these states.
