Sachin Dons New Cap, is Air Force Group Captain

New Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS): Indian sports icon Sachin Tendulkar was Friday conferred the honorary rank of group captain by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for services the cricketer has rendered to the nation through the sport.

The cricketer was presented his rank by Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik at a function here.

"I cannot even say it is like a dream come true. It is like a visual thinking," an overwhelmed Sachin said, after Naik attached the rank insignia on to the sportsman's IAF uniform.

See the proud feeling in wearing uniform by a world's greatest crickter. So my dear parents specially my Mlore parents I request you whenever your son or daughter shows interest to join Armed Forces please don't stop them. You feel pride about your kids once they wear the uniorm. You may ask me, what you have done???? I can still see this pride in my parents eyes though I am a Navy retiree (now).
