Sharath Kamal Slips Two Places to 41 in Latest Rankings

New Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS): India's top paddler Sharath Kamal fell two places from 39 to 41 in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Rankings.

Sharath's fall in the rankings can be attributed to his first-round exit in the recently concluded China Open in August.

It has been a good year for the Chennai based player. He won back to back titles in the US and the Egypt Open in July and was a semi-finalist in the Indian Open in June, a test event for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Defending Commonwealth men's singles champion Sharath will lead India's challenge at the October 3-14 Games.

India also won the men's team gold in Melbourne 2006 and is all set to defend the title.
