UAE midday break for workers to begin from June 15

Dubai, Jun 2: The ministry of human resources and emiratisation announced that the ban on work in selected sectors from 12.30 pm to 3.00 pm will begin on June 15. The announcement was made on Wednesday, June 2.

The ministry added that the ban will be in place till September 15. The ministry has tweeted in its official account stating the midday break.

The midday break rule has been put in place in the UAE to protect workers working outdoors especially in certain sectors like construction from the extreme heat during the summer months.

UAE has been witnessing temperatures peak to 47-49 degrees Celsius over the past week.
