Dubai, May 27: Citing as encroachment and violation of privacy, a civil court in Ras Al Khaimah directed an Arab woman has been ordered to pay fine of Dh 5,400. The woman reportedly sent her husband's photos and recordings to his family in a bid to tarnish his image.
The husband filed a lawsuit and demanded compensation from his wife. He also claimed that to pursue the case, he lost his salary due to his absence from work. Further, he stated that the case caused him psychological damage.
The wife's lawyer claimed that the husband had abused the wife and expelled her from their home which left her and their daughter homeless without any support. The court ruled that the evidence proved that the wife violated her husband's privacy by spying on his phone. Evidence showed that she shared pictures and recordings, and insulted him. The court stated that the husband incurred expenses and deserved financial compensation.
The court, however, rejected the husband's claim of losing his salary. The wife was asked to pay Dh 5,400 by the court in addition to legal fees and expenses
