Bengaluru, May 18: Karnataka on Tuesday May 18 registered 30,309 new coronavirus cases.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state went below the six-lac mark with 5,75,028. Bengaluru Urban reported 8,676 cases in a single day.
As many as 525 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Tuesday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 298 deaths and Ballari 28. With this, the toll so far has risen to 22,838.
The state recorded 58,395 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 16,74,487.
So far, Karnataka has seen 22,72,374 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 32.50%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.73%.
As many as 1,13,48,708 people have received vaccination so far.
