Mumbai: Konkan railways disrupted after trees crash

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, May 17: Railway tracks at five places between Madgaon and Thivim stations were blocked after strong winds along the Konkan coast uprooted trees.

This resulted in disruption of a few Konkan Railway services and a few trains were delayed by 1-3 hours. The incident occurred on Sunday morning and within a couple of hours, the trees were cleared from the tracks.

“A big tree fell close to where Netravati train was passing. The train stopped and was allowed to pass after the track was cleared,” said an official.
