Mira Road Parish Priest Turns Fifty

Mumbai, Aug 10: Golden celebrations come only once in the lifetime of a person. On Sunday August 8, Mira Road parish witnessed jubilant occasion with the fiftieth birthday celebrations of Fr Dominic Vas, the parish Priest of St Joseph Church here.

It was a grand occasion as the celebrations were held. Being the Vianny Day - all the priests of the parish were felicitated by the children and the parishioners. They recounted all the services rendered by the priests and thanked them.

A grand programme was put up by the parishioners to felicitate Fr Dominic Vas on his golden birthday. The parish youth, the children of Holy Cross Convent School, St Joseph’s School, and various linguistic parish associations of Tamil, Malayalam, Konkani and Gujarati put up many entertaining items such as dance and mimicry.

There was live band put up by Ghetto music troupe. A special issue was brought out by Divo Konkani illustrated weekly on St Joseph Church. It was a comprehensive issue covering the history of the church, important events and persons, various associations and communities of the parish.

The highlight of the function was the message given by Fr Dominic Vas.  He said that if the parish of Mira Road is a vibrant parish and a model parish today, it’s because of the dedication, unity and commitment of both the clergy and the parishioners. The whole programme was a huge success which witnessed the solidarity and co-operation of all the parishioners.
