Papillion Famed Raghu Shetty Elected JAVAB Prez

Mumbai, Aug 9: The ninth annual general body meeting of Juhu Andheri Versova Ville Parle Association of Bunts (JAVAB) was held at Blue Water Hotel auditorium, Andheri (West), here on Saturday August 7. It was presided over by JAVAB president Anand P Shetty.

Papillion famed Raghu L Shetty was unanimously elected as the new president of JAVAB during the annual general body meeting. Raghu L Shetty has served JAVAB in various capacities including vice-president in the past 8 years.

Shetty migrated to the metro four decades ago. Having done his graduation from K C College in 1977, he was employed in Customs department as enforcement officer and later promoted as superintendent in the same department. He took voluntary retirement from his service in 2000 and ventured into hotel industry. Managing director of Papillion Group of Hotels, he is popular as Papillion Raghu L Shetty among the Tulu – Kannadigas’ settled in the metro.

Raghu is the native of Badaga Belloor in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada. He is a philanthropist and also the managing trustee of Kaveeshwar temple, Badaga Bellur. A keen sportsman in his youth, he bagged many awards from both Kannadiga and other organizations. He lives in Four Bungalows, Andheri (West), here.

Anand P Shetty, the out-going president congratulated the newly-elected president Raghu L Shetty and also executive committee members on the occasion.
