Mumbai: Dedicated covid-19 hospital comes up in Jain temple with 100 beds, 10 doctors

Mumbai, Apr 18: As Mumbai is battling rapid increase in coronavirus cases day-by-day Jain community has converted one of their temples into a dedicated Covid-19 centre with 100 beds and deployed 10 doctors.

On Sunday 100 beds which includes general and delux wards with Pathology Lab and Oxygen facility was inaugurated. Around 50 medical staff including 10 doctors are deployed in the facility. The temple was converted into a covid centre during the pandemic last year too and had treated more than 2000 patients.

On Friday, the Bombay High Court allowed Jain temples in Mumbai, Pune and Nashik to carry out the delivery of special food consumed by the community while fasting for nine days, starting April 19.
