Panaji, July 29 (IANS) A legislative panel in Goa has expressed unhappiness with the security measures taken by the state government along the 105 km long coastline.
The state legislative ad hoc committee on home chaired by Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar has also urged the state home ministry to "have a thoughtful look at the coastal security in the light of sea attacks carried out on commercial capital, Mumbai by terrorists from across the border".
Goa has been on a terror alert during the tourist season from October to March every year since the 26/11 terror strikes in Mumbai in 2008.
Security along the coastal areas popular with foreign tourists has been a sensitive issue, especially after David Headley's recce of the two beach villages of Anjuna and Mandrem, both of which have Jewish prayer houses.
