Beltangady: Man stabs girl after she refuses to elope, desert family

Beltangady, Apr 8: A youth who was in love with a girl, urged her to desert her family and elope with him. As she refused to flee with him, the youth got angry, entered the house of the girl, and stabbed her with a knife.

This incident happened on the night of 'Tuesday April 6 near Layila.

A lady aged 21 belonging to Layila village suffered stab injuries inflicted by a youth belonging to her community. The accused happens to be Shamir (22), resident of Punjalkatte.

Shamir reportedly was in love with the girl for the last five years. He wanted to marry her and had been pressurizing her to leave her family and marry him. As the girl steadfastly refused to follow his advice, the lover who got angry, entered the house of the girl at around 10.20 pm on Tuesday and stabbed her. The girl was injured in her left hand, right hand, and neck. The family members immediately caught hold of him and handed him over to the police.

The injured lady is being treated in the government hospital at Beltangady. The police here have registered case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

    Rita, I am completely against what he did and he should face justice and should be punished for his crime....no justification for his crime. But I am against the hate mongers who cherry pick crimes committed by Muslims and blame our religion while totally ignoring their religions when crimes committed by their people. Height of hypocrisy and hate mongering.

    Well filthy people like sanjay hebri and others will be waiting for these kind of issues to blame our religion... At the same time forgetting that people from their religion are doing some of the worst things now a days.     Ahmed UAE,please ,let us forget here about religion but talk only deeds .Whoever the boy is ,what he did is not correct.That is the truth.He did it not because he is a boy from certain religion ,but because he got angry while girl didnt follow him.Even what he wanted that the girl elope with him to marry is not a best way to do .when he wanted to marry her ,he should have guts to ask her parents .When girl refused to elope is I find correct from her.why elope?love since 5 years and last stich her ?and injure others?Is it a love?one waits or go your way.noone injures a loved person.we should not take religion on corn.But their deeds.Girl too should have thought first of all it may not go good in long run.Difference was too much.Now each one must think first how and what is their future?Boy have to answer to his deeds.no way out.young love ended here before it had really bear fruits.sad.

    Both belong to same community and 5 years love affair sould have taught the girl all his weaknesses and bad qualities. Very rare cases of love affair in same community. Now the real fight with the elders may continue further. Before marriage he stabbed her and what could have her future of at all they were married. She is saved from major disaster.
