Brahmavar: Overloaded mini lorry topples near Heroor, several labourers injured

Brahmavar, Apr 4: A mini lorry carrying labourers toppled on national highway 66 near Heroor late evening on Sunday April 4.

The vehicle was carrying around 25 labourers, and almost all of them sustained injuries of varying degree.

At least two of the labourers are said to be in serious condition.

The mini lorry was transporting people way beyond its capacity, allegedly in violation of rules. The vehicle was also carrying a concrete mixing machine.

The mini lorry was plying from Kundapur to Udupi when the driver lost control and hit a divider, after which the vehicle overturned.

As soon as the accident occured, locals gathered at the spot and helped in shifting the injured to hospitals in Ajjarkad and Brahmavar.

Brahmavar police have registered a case.

    A similar accident with cement mixer and laborers had taken place in that area earlier too. Driver and contractor are to be blamed for this accident. Cement mixer if not fastened properly will lead to imbalance of the vehicle during sharp turning or overtaking other vehicles.

    Some people are simply without senses.Catch this driver and put him inside.No Responsibility ,no rules may be without licence too.or had drunk?Otherwise who will load a cement mixing machine on a small lorry.why are no police on this road who controls vehicles ?besides machine and so many labourers tooHope they will soon be out of hospitals
