Udupi: IAS officer Shreyas Hosur inaugurates 'Bharath Ka Amruth Mahotsava 2021' at SRS

Udupi, Mar 25: The Green deeds and habits for sustainable environment campaign was launched by the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change under a 75-week long 'Bharath Ka Amruth Mahotsava' to commemorate the 75th year of Independence of our nation. The mission includes 75 events for 75 weeks with one prominent event every week.


Aiming at environmental awareness among the society through eco clubs of schools and colleges by following simple measures to make a visible difference to the environment.

Shreyas Hosur (IAS), an alumnus of Sharada Residential School (SRS) inaugurated this historical event with pomp and show on March 12 at Sowparnika auditorium, Sharada Residential School, Udupi.

Currently, Shreyas serves as deputy financial advisor in the Indian Railway department. Just four years ago, he worked as assistant director in Cybersecurity at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Addressing the students he said, “Sharada Residential School has played an important role in making me a responsible and independent student. Students should have an action plan in their life. They should have a tendency to continue with the same effort and adopt principles in their life to accomplish that goal." He also imparted some valuable advice to IAS aspirants.

The highlight of the event was 'Distribution of Saplings' to the student representatives.

The mastermind of the event Vinutha Acharya assisted the students in displaying the message through slogans and placards.

The school director Vidyavantha Acharya was present and the school principal Dr M Ramchandran presided over the function.
