Bengaluru: CM launches GetCETgo portal, online coaching for CET, NEET, JEE exams

Bengaluru, Mar 22: Karnataka launched the online coaching facility from the state’s higher education department to candidates studying for CET, NEET and JEE exams under its ambitious web portal service from GetCETgo.

Chief minister B S Yediyurappa launched the GetCETgo web portal providing the online coaching facility at a function held in Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Monday and urged all students to make the best use of the service.

The online coaching service by the state’s higher education department was confined to students appearing for CET and NEET examinations so far. From this year, candidates appearing for JEE examinations will also be provided with online coaching.

Last year, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic several students were off-track with their examination preparation and access to academic content, was limited. The GetCETgo initiative was launched to help offset these challenges.

This initiative will be more beneficial to students who belong to backward sections of the socio-economic structure. This also comprises of LMS (learning management system) and measures taken by the deputy chief minister with regard to this is laudable, the chief minister said.

Deputy chief minister and higher education minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, health and family welfare as well as medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar and primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar participated in the function. Kumar Naik, principal secretary, department of higher education, P Pradeep, commissioner, Department of Collegiate Education, Venkataraju, head of KEA were also present.

The online coaching facility provided by the state’s higher education department would benefit students belonging to economically and socially backward sections.The comprehensive Learning Management System (LMS) will also be available, Dr Ashwath Narayan said.

The state government’s objective was to ensure a higher enrolment of students from Karnataka in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It will also help students appearing for examinations in Kannada medium to get more ranks and also prevent them from facing financial difficulties.

First state to provide the facility

The GetCETgo online coaching system has been devised on the model of learning, revision and examination. Candidates appearing for NEET, JEE and CET examinations will be able access necessary learning tools and videos besides summary of subjects and also competitive examinations, the deputy chief minister said and claimed that Karnataka has become the first state in the country to undertake such a service.

Candidates appearing for NEET, JEE and CET examinations can easily join GetCETgo online coaching platform. Students from all over the country appearing for the competitive examinations can access the facility by.

"This has the objective of increasing the number of students of Karnataka in IITs. This would facilitate the students of Karnataka to achieve ranks in JEE and NEET exams,’’ he said.

This course facilitates learning, revision, and taking up tests. Videos, synopsis, interactive tests, especially in terms of scale on an online platform will be the first initiative by any state in the country. This is intended to benefit over 2 lac students across the nation who have registered for this program.

Through this, the government of Karnataka will be able to deliver quality crash course content at a cost of less than Rs 40 per registered student, he explained.

He also informed that coaching through GetCETgo which now has a Google rating of 4.3 would be made available for the entire year from the coming academic year and Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will be entrusted with this responsibility.

Dr Narayan said, “GetCETgo introduced by the Government of Karnataka in 2020, in association with Digilearn Pvt Ltd is blended as a unique combination of technology and content. Backed by chapter synopsis, classwork, revision, homework, and mock tests, GetCETgo has developed a structured ecosystem for the student to study. With the focus being on providing a real-time test experience, there is a rigorous analytics system in place which displays the results and reflects the student’s position against the performance of other test-takers.”

Having set the precedent for success last year, GetCETgo is available through the web portal, an android app, and YouTube channel. Now this comes with new and improved updates in 2021.

  • GetCETgo will be available through eDUCATOR, an assisted LMS platform available on Android phones.
  • GetCETgo will offer preparatory material for KCET, NEET, and JEE
  • The test will be available in the JEE Main format.

    Good initiative. I strongly believe that even though from rss, yeddyurappa is a beeter person than the new breed bjp leaders who are sowing hate. Yeddyurappa built bjp in katnataka not on hindutva ideology. He is only into corruption though.
